Readiness Series: What Is Readiness?

Readiness is not a fringe or radical concept. This introduction is a broad survey to the discipline and practice of Readiness. Like diet or exercise, Readiness is practice that needs to be cultivated over time. One might not be "Ready" if they purchase a prepackaged survival kit online and spend no time learning about how to use the contents or understanding principals like keeping calm under duress, situational awareness and other hard and soft skills associated with being Ready. This class will touch on the eight spokes of the Readiness Curriculum and will help community members to orient themselves on a topic that is overwhelming, unfamiliar and scary to many. Topics discussed will include: Situational awareness The importance of community and how to cultivate it, Medical, Communications, Logistics Food and water security and the mechanics and dynamics of a true large scale emergency scenario.  Know what it means it be truly ready - capable of service to self, family and community.

This event is part of our Weekly Readiness Series, a weekly dialogue about what “Readiness” is and how you can go about taking proactive steps to becoming more capable. This series is designed to help you welcome readiness as a discipline and practice into your lifestyle.

It’s not about preparing for the worst but training to live your best.
